About u.l.k.

u.l.k. stands for ’unges laboratorier for kunst’ – young people’s art labs

In u.l.k. you can:

•    learn something new through art
•    get to know new people
•    get a creative network
•    become better at photography, making art films, being a DJ - and much more
•    get sparring partners and feed-back about your own art
•    get new inspiration
•    share your knowledge with other young people, artists and the staff
     at the Museum
•    and that is only the start of it...

u.l.k is an artistic community for everyone interested in art – but especially for young people. Here you will meet young people who enjoy art just like you; together you can create things that are taken seriously. You will also meet artists, researchers and educators who listen to your ideas.

u.l.k. is a laboratory of knowledge and new ideas. We experiment together with new ways of expression and bring your reality and my reality, the world and society, into what we do. We combine old and new and see what comes out of it. We mix Golden Age painting and electronic music, performance and YouTube videos and teaching – and we mix your art with 700 years of art history! There is no hierarchy here; your knowledge and your experiences are just as important as other people’s – so come and join in!

u.l.k is open 24 hours a day at www.smk.dk/ulk
This is the site where you can communicate with other young people, upload your own works, get feed-back and share your art experiences and links.
You can visit u.l.k. on site when there are workshops and events, or if you pay a visit in connection with teaching. Check the calendar.

u.l.k. is the result of a collaboration between art pilots, researchers, museum educators, artists of all kinds, interior architects and Mediatrope, the software producer. The art pilots are behind the ideas for the frame and content of the laboratories – and all these are constantly on the move.
